  • Slumdog Millionaire

I will review this movie in 5 simple words. Go watch the movie NOW.

Very beautifully made movie that depicts what the Hollywood directors want to avoid - the REAL truth. No other movie has depicted the reality in Asia other than Slumdog. We hear from our parents of kids being blinded to beg and now we see the real underbelly of the human race right off in Slumdog.

The colors of the movie are beautifully made and the story telling is rather unique in its own dark way. The story is told from 2 brother's perspectives and there's a love story hidden beneath it all. The movie depicts the best of mankind too - such as preserverance, faith, patience, hard work and most of all true love.

It's a feel good movie at its best!

How many oscars will Slumdog Millionaire win?

    A> 1

    B> 2

    C> 5

    D> ALL

BTW - I feel cheated that 'The Dark Knight' was not nominated for best picture & director. The Oscars are a big cheat, if it's not for Slumdog, I would not even be bothered.

  • Machine That Produces Caffiene

I saw this contraption recently and man, was I perplexed on how to use it. I tried pressing the buttons and yet no coffee came out. This will till one of the assistant showed me how best to use the machine.

First you select the capsules - I remember black is for double expresson (that's all). Put in the capsule in the machine like a gambling slot machine and press the button. I hear streams of hot water and walla! Coffee is made...

    DSC00102

It seems that the coffee machine pokes holes in the capsule made of plastic and shoot streams of hot water into the capsule with the water absorbing all the caffiene goodness from the coffee beans. What you have later on is an empty capsule shell. Magic huh? The technology comes no other from the robot making nation of JAPAN!!!

  • The missing 'NOT'

I saw this in one of Malaysia's public toilet. I was pretty tempted to follow the directions given. What's next? Shoot Here Only?

  • Pork Blood Cake

That piece of square box which I'm holding with my chopsticks is made out of coagulated pork blood and it's called pork blood cake. It's a delicacy in Penang where it's mixed with curry noodles and it takes lots of guts to try it for the first time and although I used to chomp down those blood cakes when I was a child - the most recent trip - I had a good look at that piece of pork blood and gave myself a prep talk for 5 minutes before deciding to chomp it down like a man.

    I tasted weird!!! Like blooodddddd...

  • First Night F1 Race

I used to be a big fan of Formula1, the fast cars, the science behind every car and of course the sound of the Formula1 car whizzing pass each other. All these and more really made my day. I'm a simple person and I'll always be. The recent excitement would be Singapore's SingTel Singapore Formula1 Race. The race would be the first ever Formula 1 race held at night.

Imagine Singapore city being lit up as though it was 12 noon at 8pm. In my humble opinion - it's a waste of electricity and polluting the environment. Singapore can hold the race at 2pm and thus reduce the unnecessary power needed to light up the track. I think it's to cater to the European audience and it's around 2pm UK standard time. So I'm excited of the prospect to watch the world's first ever night race but appalled that it's done at the cost of the irreversible damage to the environment. How many coals/petrol needed to be burnt to power up a city even brighter at night? What's the resulting carbon emission from 3 days of excessive power consumption?

In a lighter mood, I'm hoping Lewis Hamilton will be the youngest ever Formula 1 champion

  • Moving Places

It's been a while. I know, things have been great for me and thus I'm shorting out attention to this blog. Nevertheless, recently I've been thinking of where would I live with my life partner and what type of furniture would be comfortable for the both of us.

We've been browsing through some furniture and all signs pointing to 'BEDROOM FURNITURE'. An important part we've learned is that unless you plan to move out soon - do get a good bed that's made of treated wood. The bed should last you for a lifetime and although it's rather expensive to buy initially but the investment is for the long term. Getting some PLATFORM BEDS would make sense as the designs are rather cool.

Also a good and spacious wardrobe in as part of your BEDROOM FURNITURE is essential because your collection of clothes are bound to grow over time and getting the extra space would enable you and your spouse to keep more clothing items inside - that includes handbags, shoes and etc. I also recommend having a dehumidifier inside the cupboard to absorb the moisture and it keeps clothes smelling great and your clothes last longer.

I've got some BEDROOM FURNITURE to recommend from eRoomService. Not only that, there's also bestseller list where fickle minded people like me can make a decision on what to purchase. Frankly speaking, I'd love to have everything I can put my hands on.

  • Wendy's Lost

Wendy the cutest dog in the world is lost. I'm feeling a bit lost too. Wendy's been living with us for the past 15 years and 4 months and suddenly the house feels empty without the little pesky puppy. I still call him a puppy even though he's an old dog. I feel emotionally drained and all I can say is that I've the Lord Heavenly Father to thank for bringing Wendy into my family's lives. Wendy has been the rainbow after the storm and he's the meaning of the word miracle. Wendy is truly God's work at hand and he's been a great companion to my family. All I want to pray for now is that Wendy wherever he is, to be safe and if he's alive to come back.

Otherwise... I'd like to wish that Wendy is with my grandmother; united together after 9 years and 3 months of separation. Wendy and my grandmother used to share the same room so now they both can be with each other in Heaven. Wendy was her protector and now they will have a sweet reunion and share back the good old times they had together. I know someday, I'll see Wendy again but not until I've achieved my purpose here.

So I'd like to ask God for now to extend your grace and mercy over Wendy.

  • Shoes, shoes and more shoes

Part of looking good is to have shoes. Lot's of shoes. To men, having a classy pair of shoes is the difference between looking great and average. To women, having the right pair of shoes during a special occasion can mean an unforgettable memory or just a forgettable event. Hence why we find women having lots of shoes as each shoe fits an occasion.

Having a great looking pairs of shoes is not an easy feat. There are many designs to choose from and the design changes every year. This makes it almost impossible to find the right pair at the right time at the right mood. Blowfish Shoes gives you the choice now to select from a wide range of shoes from casuals, sandals and boots. They provide you with pictures of shoes before purchase so that you can match and fit to your dress or suit. Blowfish Shoes carries new line of shoes from famous designer such as Esprit, Aerosoles and more.

Blowfish Women's Shoes catalog provides you with various designs that suits all occasions. I personally would like to say that the sandals are pretty nice in design and could be worn for all occasions - whether it's a trip to the beach or just a stroll down the park.

As for the Blowfish Men's Shoes, the online catalog gives you an extensive feel of the shoes and it comes with a quick description of the shoe in mind and buying them is a breeze. All you need to do is click on the 'Buy' button and you're off to owning a new pair of stylish shoe, if you are unsure - there's a user review of the product to help you make your choice. Nevertheless, it's simple and easy to have a look at the shoes in Blowfish Shoes and the good thing is the number of shoes is not too extensive till it confuses you but it's a small but sufficient catalog for anyone to purchase or learn more on the type of shoe.
